One needs no reason to tuck a good marinade recipe away somewhere for special occasions. In fact, a good marinade makes an even better appearance on an everyday steak.

Steak like this, grilled outdoors or under the broiler and slathered afterwards with barbecue sauce, was always one of my mother’s favorites, and she hails from Texas. She knew a good steak when she met one, and cut pack it away with the best of them.

Often she would be out in the backyard grilling her own things on her own grill, as she and my dad liked different kinds of grills. And when the season for grilling finally failed, she would bring her cooking indoors to finish in the oven under the broiler.

This was always one of my favorite things she cooked as well, with great sides for this being her baked potatoes or a huge bowl of tossed salad.

As years wore on, she never did lose her appetite for a good steak and all the sides, either at home for dinner or out on the town, she could always be found near a steak.

I am sure she looked approvingly on as I made this steak, with its aromas reaching to high heaven. All heads there would bend down to take note, as this truly is one of the foods of the gods.

So if you find yourself with a few steaks this weekend, do give this one a try. It is simple. It is delicious. And I hope you enjoy-
