Red Hot BallPark Peanuts
By Sue Lau | Palatable Pastime
You know Spring has truly arrived when the boys of summer break out their gear and the stadium opens.
And such it is today when the Cincinnati Reds take on the Philadelphia Phillies at Great American Ballpark in downtown Cincinnati, overlooking the Ohio River.
Go Reds!
Unfortunately, I don’t get to go, and it also doesn’t stop me from having sudden cravings for peanuts, popcorn and cracker jack!
But to celebrate it is easy enough to whip up a batch of spicy peanuts, which in my opinion taste way better than plain ones. If you are looking for brain-burning fire, they won’t be quite as hot as peanuts spiced up out of the shell, but if tasting the spice on the shell (pop one in your mouth to crack it open) then it will be nicely spicy.
And the best part is, if you make your own ballpark peanuts, you’ll still have an arm and a leg afterwards, instead of paying stadium prices. Enjoy!
