Cheddar, Garlic and Jalapeno Beer Bread

This month is my first posting with the Bread Bakers group, and we will be baking breads of all sorts with different themes. The theme for this month is garlic,  so I chose to do a simple beer bread with garlic flavor in addition to cheddar and jalapeno.

You might expect at first glance that this bread has a really spicy flavor and  will be too hot for some, but it really is mild overall, and instead of blazing heat there is a gentle flavor of garlic, cheese and jalapeno, more in line with the flavors of ordinary bread.

That being said, this bread is great grilled up as a sandwich with pepper-jack cheese between two thin slices. It makes a great lunch or snack.

  1. I love beer bread and was thinking of making a couple of loaves. This will definitely be at least one of the loaves…warm with butter! YES!

  2. That looks amazingly moist and decadent… and delicious! Love all of the flavors you have in that bread! Welcome to #breadbakers!

  3. Normally I’m not even a big fan of cheesy bread, but I STILL could REALLY go for a slice of this right about now. Well done 😀
