I’ve enjoyed fried pickles since the first time I had them some years ago. I’m not sure if they are authentically German, but I did try the ones at the Hofbrauhaus in Newport Kentucky while sipping beer in their biergarten.

I’d been meaning to make them for awhile, but do admit I don’t fry foods that often, so these are just an occasional treat. And it seems Oktoberfest is quite the occasion!

These will go with most pub foods as you can imagine  and are great for parties. I served mine with ranch dressing but think they would also go well with 1000 Island dressing, remoulade sauce, ketchup or even horseradish sauce as a dipper.

I hope you enjoy these as much as we did and kick off this year’s Oktoberfest with lots of fun foods! I am planning to do eleven Oktoberfest recipes this year between now and October 2nd (as many as I could fit in). Let me know how you like the recipes! Until tomorrow-
