Everything Bagel Seasoning is my recipe of the day with Foodie Extravaganza. I have paired it up with avocado topped bagels, my daughter’s favorite breakfast.
The spice mix is a combination of ingredients that closely matches the Trader Joe’s spice. You can sprinkle it on top of dressed bagels, toast, salads, unbaked breads, muffins, savory scones and more.
It has a nice garlicky crunch and sesame flavor.

Ingredients
Bagel Seasoning: (yield 1/4 cup)
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon flaked sea salt
- 1 tablespoon dried roasted minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds
Instructions
- Stir together bagel seasoning and store in an airtight container.
- For avocado topped bagels, toast bagels and top with sliced or mashed ripe avocado, then sprinkle lightly with bagel seasoning.

I inherited a small pouch of everything bagel seasoning which I used on the bagel balls but much to my horror, I found my husband hovering over the sink flicking the salt bits off his because 1) he’s been trying to cut down on his salt intake and 2) he found it too salty. Now I can make my own and either eliminate or reduce the salt. Thanks, Sue!
