I  am fortunate to live in an area that has a lot of apple orchards. So I feel assured to be able to get the very best of freshly pressed cider. If you can get it, purchase that instead of what you can buy in the grocery store.

I am also fortunate to be able  to purchase any number of Kentucky  bourbons, considering  I live just north of  there in Ohio (ten miles north of south, right?). I also  used some bourbon barrel maple  syrup, which is pricy  but delicious. You can  find it online. But regular pure syrup will do nicely.

Just try to avoid pancake  syrup that is not  pure maple.

The hubz said he likes his with a touch less  sweet and a little more bourbon for  the burn. I found this drink perfectly quaffable as it is. But don’t be shy adjusting the tastes your way.
