(lightly beaten)

Extra shredded cheese

Instructions
Place the grits, chicken broth, garlic, salt and pepper in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Cook, stirring, over moderate heat until mixture thickens.
Take off the heat and stir in chopped or shredded cheeses with the butter until it all melts and incorporates.
Whisk together the eggs and milk, then quickly whisk that into the grits.
Pour mixture into a buttered baking dish (square or rectangular) that holds about 6-8 cups.
Top with more shredded cheese if you like, but it doesn’t need it.
Bake at 350F for 40-50 minutes or until a knife comes out clean and it is set.
