Fresh Strawberry Syrup

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar


  • Place chopped strawberries and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Keep at a rolling boil for ten minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Strain mixture and discard solids.
  • Top up strawberry juice to one cup if needed.
  • Stir in 2 cups granulated sugar and bring too a boil, stirring constantly to dissolve sugar completely.
  • Cool syrup and pour into jars; refrigerate until needed.
