  • Noodles:
  • 16 ounces uncooked spaghetti noodles (cooked to package directions)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 small onions (cut into wedges)
  • 1 red bell pepper (cut into strips)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger root
  • 8 ounce can bamboo shoots (drained and julienned)
  • 2 ounces fresh broccoli (cut into small florets)
  • 1 cup matchstick cut carrots
  • 4 green onions (chopped)
  • Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon beef base
  • 1 cup pasta water


  • Cook spaghetti and drain.
  • Brown beef with onion, bell peppers, garlic and ginger in a large wok or deep skillet; drain fat.
  • Stir in the broccoli, bamboo shoots and carrots, cooking a minute or two more.
  • Stir in the green onions, and when they start to wilt, stir in the sauce.
  • Add spaghetti noodles and toss to mix.
