Earl Grey Tea Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 10 ounces steaming hot milk
  • 2 individual Earl Grey tea bags
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
  • zest of one orange
  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dried currants
  • 3/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts
  • 1/2 cup dried chopped pitted dates

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Place tea bags in steaming milk and allow to steep ten minutes.
  • Remove tea bags and mix tea with remaining ingredients to create a smooth batter.
  • Spray a 9x5x3-inch baking pan with Baker's Release spray.
  • Add batter to pan and bake in the preheated oven for 75-85 minutes or until a toothpick, when inserted and removed, does not have wet batter clinging to it.
  • Cool in the pan 15 minutes, then turn bread out and finish cooling on a wire rack.
