old-fashioned oats

baking powder

teaspoon
baking soda

chopped pitted dates
1/2
cup
chopped toasted pecans
powdered sugar
(topping)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375F.
Spray a 9-inch square glass baking pan with nonstick spray or liberally grease.
Combine the butter and brown sugar until creamy, then add eggs, blending again until smooth.
Add flour, oats, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and baking soda, stirring until it becomes a smooth batter.
Fold in the dates and pecans.
Spread evenly in the baking pan and bake for 20 minutes or until firm and lightly browned on top.
Dust with powdered sugar when cool, and slice into squares.
Store in an airtight container.
