Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 8 ounces canned tomato sauce
  • 15 ounces canned fire-roasted diced tomatoes
  • 15 ounces canned red kidney beans drained
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 15 ounces prepared tamales cut into chunks

Instructions
 

  • Brown the ground beef with the onion, garlic, salat and black pepper.
  • Drain the fat.
  • Add the beef broth, tomato sauce and canned tomatoes.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for twenty minutes.
  • Stir in the beans and chunks of tamales and simmer ten minutes more.
