Ingredients

Cheese ball:
1
firm ripe pear
stemmed, cored and shredded
1/4
cup
pear spread or pear jam
1/2
teaspoon
salt
1/4
teaspoon
white pepper

cream cheese
at room temperature
12
ounces
Gruyere Swiss cheese
shredded (3 cups)
Coating:
1
cup
finely chopped toasted walnuts
Instructions
Using food processor with large shredding blade, shred pear and mix with pear spread, salt and white pepper.
Add cream cheese and Gruyere to food processor fitted with chopping blade and pulse until cheese is smooth.
Add pear mixture and mix again.
Place cheese in a mixing bowl, cover with wrap and chill overnight.
Toast walnuts and finely chop.
Divide cheese mixture into three balls; place in freezer for thirty minutes to firm.
Roll balls in finely chopped walnuts.
Serve with crackers or keep refrigerated until needed.
