Pear and Walnut Cheese Ball

I decided to make some cheese balls for holiday entertaining. And these are made with pear.

Many times, cheese balls are loaded with bacon, horseradish, cheddar, caramelized onion and lots of garlic. Among other ingredients.

However, there is also a place for those who want a cheese spread without strong assertive flavors.

The milder flavors in this cheese are ones I liked very much as a child. Another great flavor is pineapple. Very retro. And done with Gruyere or Swiss cheese.

This is perfectly delicious served on Ritz crackers, or even gourmet crackers with cracked black pepper.

As you can see above, the recipe makes three medium sized cheese balls. They line up nicely on a tray. Or you can put them out singly, saving the other two for later. Another idea is to give these as food gifts. Or bring to a party.
