Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp is my recipe of the day with the blogging group From Our Dinner Table. We group together weekly to post recipes on a common topic. This week we are sharing recipes with lots of garlic.

Over the past year I have been enjoying making Hawaiian recipes after being inspired by my favorite local restaurant, Onolicious Hawaii.
They had been operating out of a ghost kitchen but are moving to a new brick and mortar location and not open yet. So I am on my own, and so far, my recipes have been good.
I still have some other Hawaiian recipes to share, such as an authentic Hawaiian macaroni salad. You’ll have to sit tight waiting for those until I get time to post. I’ll get those up asap since this type of food really makes me think of summer. And summer is on its way!

Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp

Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 pounds large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup chopped garlic
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup mochiko flour
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Clean shrimp and set aside.
- Place garlic and butter in a small saute skillet and brown the garlic lightly; set aside.
- Mix the mochiko flour with seasonings and toss with shrimp.
- Heat oil in the skillet and cook shrimp for a few minutes until they brown and curl lightly.
- Pour the garlic butter over the shrimp.
Notes
To serve as a Hawaiian plate, serve with a couple of sides, such as sticky rice, Hawaiian potato salad, or Hawaiian macaroni salad.
