Hawaiian Plantation Iced Tea is my recipe of the day with the blogging group From Our Dinner Table. We group  on Sundays to share our favorite recipes on a common topic. This week we have recipes to use for the Fourth of July barbecue. And I have a nice cold drink.

Hawaiian Plantation Iced Tea

Hawaiians like to make a pineapple iced tea which uses a mixture of pineapple juice and an herbal tea blend grown in the islands.

That can be hard to obtain, so I have used flavors I’ve found in canned Hawaiian pineapple tea to mix up my own version. I think maybe the ones I’ve tried were lighter in hibiscus. But I like mine this way. Especially with the bright red colors.

I used Clear Fruit pineapple water which has sugar. I have also seen other flavors of water that have artificial sweetener so they are calorie free. You can make your own decision by what is available to you.

Pineapple juice I have tried but it does make the tea murky and also changes the color. So I  prefer sticking to the flavored clear water. Actual pineapple tea, no matter what blend, can be hard to find.
