Birthday meals around here will usually involve me making whatever my family member’s heart desires, or going out. In the case of myself, I usually do go out. I will often defer to whatever treat I wished someone would cook for me.
One case in point is the restaurant Onolicious Hawaii here in Cincinnati, run by Elena and Vinnie. I love all their offerings of street food with the Hawaiian touch. But the special one for me is the Hawaiian Beef Sticks.
As I enthusiastically said in my review: “Arguably the best street food in Cincinnati. Get the beef sticks. You’ll dream of them. And the papaya salad is def legit. I am addicted to every bite!”
I am addicted. So whenever I am lunching around there, I drop by. Soon they will be moving to new digs downtown, and I may not get there as often. But at least I have figured a good way to make these, even if I do have to grill them myself.

Your beef sticks look divine, Sue! I can see why they are a favorite and I’m sure they just melt in your mouth after overnight marinating.
Those looks amazing! Jake and I are trying to eat less meat. However, I am definitely putting that on my list for a meat day! Yum.
OH my…..those sound amazing and I just happen to be in Hawaii where they have food turck courts. It is the coolest thing. I’m going to see if I can find these beef sticks.
