Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup chopped dried apples

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Cream together softened butter and sugars in a mixing bowl.
  • Add egg,  applesauce and vanilla, mixing until blended.
  • Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, stirring in the oats to mix.
  • Add flour mixture to the wet mixture and stir until mixed.
  • Fold in the walnuts, raisins and apple pieces.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls  or a cookie scoop onto parchment lined baking sheets.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden and lightly firm.
  • Cool on wire racks, then store in a cookie jar or airtight container.
