of heavy cream

of butter melted and cooled

black treacle

of golden syrup
Dry ingredients:

candied ginger

teaspoon
baking soda

teaspoon
salt

tsp
cinnamon

teaspoons
ginger

teaspoon
ground cloves

of all-purpose flour
Other:

cup
prepared whipped cream
nutmeg garnish
optional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350° f.
Spray a 9-inch square baking pan with Baker's Release spray.
Stir dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.
Stir wet ingredients separately in another bowl.
Gently combine wet and dry ingredients and spread in pan.
Bake for 30 minutes or until springy.
Cool then serve squares with whipped cream and nutmeg.
