Instructions
Preheat oven to 375F.
Fit pie crust into tart pan and flute edges.
Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, sour cream, salt, black pepper and garlic in a small bowl; set aside.
Heat a griddle or frying pan with nonstick spray.
Place onions on griddle and cook until they soften, turning once to cook both sides.
Place shredded cheese on the bottom of the crust and top with egg mixture.
Place onions on top of custard; dot with butter and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Place pan on a cookie sheet to catch spills and bake for one hour, or until the center is domed and cooked through.
Cool 15 minutes before cutting into slices.
