Pixie Stix Candy Straws

Equipment

  • small funnel
  • 30-36 paper drink straws

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 (0.14 ounce packet) unsweetened Kool-aid soft drink mix (any flavor) (I used lemonade)

Instructions
 

  • Mix sugar with kool-aid powder.
  • Pinch the bottom of the straw closed and fold it over tightly.
  • Use a small funnel to fill the straws; you may need to do this in reverse, sticking the straw up the bottom of the (larger) funnel and wrapping your hand around the meeting place so the sugar doesn't escape the bottom.
  • Release over the sugar bowl, then tap out just a little bit so you can pinch the top closed.
  • Store in a cool, dry place. (I used a gallon ziplock bag).
