garlic

Conecuh brand smoked sausage, sliced

fresh jalapeno
thinly sliced

can crushed tomatoes
undrained

of fresh turnip greens trimmed and thinly sliced

of chicken broth

cup
dried mixed vegetables

teaspoons
Cajun spice

teaspoon
dried thyme

of shredded green cabbage

bag of frozen purple hull peas or black-eyed peas
Slap ya mama brand or your choice hot sauce to taste

black pepper
Instructions
Brown the sausage in bacon grease.
Add that to the soup pot with everything else except for the peas.
Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer cover for 30 minutes.
Then add the peas and cook 15 minutes more until the peas are tender.
