Ingredients
  

Wings:

  • 2-1/2 pounds chicken wing sections
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Bourbon Sauce (yield 1-1/4 cups):

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 4 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger root
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon whisky

Instructions
 

  • Prepare bourbon sauce by whisking together ingredients in a small saucepan until it comes to a boil.
  • Cook sauce about one minute or until thickened. Set aside until needed.
  • Pat wings dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Toss wings with cornstarch evenly then drizzle with oil and toss again.
  • Place wings on the rack of a preheated air fryer and cook at 400-450 (depending on your model) for about 25-30 minutes, or until browned and crisp, turning 2-3 times during the cooking process.
  • Toss wings with sauce and serve hot. The full amount results in nicely saucy wings, but you can probably adequately coat two orders of wings if used more sparingly.
