cooking oil or shortening

Brine:

whole buttermilk

poultry seasoning

Louisiana hot sauce

Batter:

flour

cup
buttermilk

water

Sauce:
1/4
cup
thousand island dressing
1/4
cup
mayonnaise

teaspoons
ranch seasoning

tablespoon
ketchup
Instructions
Mix brine and add chicken. Let rest, refrigerated for several hours.
Mix together sauce ahead of time and chill.
Mix batter until smooth. Drain chicken from brine, discarding brine.
Dip chicken into batter then add to moderately hot oil, cooking until crisp, browned and 165F inside. Drain from hot oil.
Serve chicken with dipping sauce.
