Danish Grilled Salmon with Mörk Sauce

Equipment

  • 1 outdoor grill
  • 1 nonstick grill mesh or fish basket

Ingredients
  

Fish:

  • 1-1/2 pounds fresh salmon fillet

Marinade:

  • 2 tablespoons Mörk Sirap beet molasses; may substitute molasses
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Mix marinade and pour over fish; let rest one hour.
  • Drain marinade, lightly oil fish and season with salt and black pepper.
  • Grill fillets over moderate heat using a grill mesh or fish basket, skin side down for several minutes then gently turn.
  • Brush with marinade as it cooks and continue grilling until fish is 135F-140F.
