Green Beans with Poblano Peppers

Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 ounces cubed country bacon or salt pork
  • 12 ounces fresh green beans trimmed
  • 1 cup chopped Vidalia onion
  • 1 fresh poblano pepper seeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions
 

  • Brown country bacon with onions in a nonstick skillet; add garlic for 30 seconds, then remaining ingredients.
  • Simmer 30 minutes, covered.
