Spicy Hoisin Grilled Corn is my recipe of the day  for the blogging event Farmer’s Market Week. On Monday I posted a recipe for Blackberry Cornmeal Cobbler. Wednesday I shared slow cooker braised half runner beans. . And today I finish up  with spicy hoisin grilled corn.  Along with a  few from  my blogging friends. I hope you enjoyed the event.

My corn uses a simple baste to add flavor to the grilled cob corn. But don’t worry. You can also use it on other types of cooking methods.

But as you can see, the little bit of char  really puts it over  the top. So while corn is still in season, be sure to get a last few ears onto your summer menu.

Equipment

Ingredients

Corn:

  • 3 ears corn shucked

Baste:

  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sambal chilli paste
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon shoyu or soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Stir together corn baste in a small bowl.
  • Shuck corn and grill over hot coals or a gas grill for about ten minutes, basting with a silicone brush as it gets close to being done.
