A #SundaySupper Preview of Peaches!

A #SundaySupper Preview of Peaches!

By Sue Lau | Palatable Pastime

This week, the #SundaySupper event I am hosting is all about summer peaches. And as we enter the dog days of summer, with all the wonderful farm market and local fruit, peaches are a prize. You might wonder what the dog days are- and they are the days in summer when the star Sirius rises and sets at the same time as the Sun, during the warmest days of summer. Ancients used to be able to see it in the sky, and thought that the star actually added to the Sun’s warmth, causing the sultry days we experience each year around this time.

And it is “Sirius” business as we set about trying to stay cool, and eating summer’s juiciest fruits is a good way to do that, and one of the kings of juicy fruits is the peach, which can be prepared in a myriad of ways as you can see  below.

So if summer’s warmth is dogging you, try staying refreshed with one  of the many delicious peach recipes posted this week.
