Barbecue Smokehouse Almonds

Barbecue Smokehouse Almonds are my recipe of the day  in our newest blogging group: Sunday Funday! Wendy  is hosting our first event and chose the theme of holiday nibbles.

I love having  nuts around for the holidays! We used to buy the  canned bbq smokehouse  almonds all the time but then they disappeared. (Same thing happened with bbq Fritos that I also love).

But easy enough to still get the plain smoked almonds and add a bit of flavoring. I did  and  these were eaten in a flash.

Besides holiday fare and parties, these also  make excellent food  gifts. Wrapped up in a cannister  with a nice bow, they will  always be well received.

Who doesn’t  like to  find something to nibble on Christmas morning under the tree? We love it. Anything from nuts to popcorn, chocolates  and caramels, brandied  cherries and even…who remembers Hickory  Farms in all the  malls stacked high with tasty cheese?

I get a little  misty eyed thinking about all the old time treats. At least with this recipe,  it’s one we can still  have for our own.
