Palatable Pastime’s Most Popular Reader’s Favorite Recipes of 2018
By Sue Lau | Palatable Pastime
The year-end recipe countdown continues! And for today the sharing is for the most popular Reader’s Choice recipes of 2018, which are the favorite recipes of the past year overall.
Sugar Cookie Cheesecake
At the top of the list is my Sugar Cookie Cheesecake, which is the bomb. You may have seen this already in the desserts collection. Isn’t it gorgeous? To me it is what I would want instead of a usual birthday cake.
Lemon Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Next up is another cake, this one the uber-moist lemon Bundt. Lemon is one of my favorite flavors overall, especially in recipes for cake and quick breads.
Cranberry Glazed Carrots
This is a recipe I made for Cranberry Week- a variation of several glazed carrot recipes I like to make. When I was little, you couldn’t get me to eat a carrot from a pot roast. I had to sit at the table until I did. With glazed carrots, I’d probably eat them all before the bowl got to the table. And by glazed, I mean glazed- not some runny sauce. Just imagine in winter when your sidewalks are glazed with ice- it is not runny rain on them- it is something that coated and clung to them. Same here.
Pressure Cooker Tavern Sandwiches (Iowa Loosemeat)
This recipe took first place in both Instant Pot and Main Dish recipes and is a cross between a good burger and a sloppy joe, like the Maid-Rite sandwiches you may have heard about- all made quickly in the pressure cooker.
Mexican Chocolate Marbled Bundt Cake
Another of my cake recipes- this one showcasing how to effectively make a marbled Bundt- and you can use that trick with any two batters to get that beautiful result. And the ganache? It’s TDF.
Spider Web Brownie Pizza
This is my top Halloween recipe of the year, those being perennial favorites. Y’all have a thing for spider webs (and I guess, by default, that means I do, too!) As another top Halloween recipe is my Spider Web Taco Dip. Both recipes add a lot of fun without being too weird.

Lots of sweets on the list and I love that!! 🙂
Those carrots would always be welcome on my dinner table!
