Chicago Tamale Dog (aka the Mother-in-Law sandwich) is my recipe of the day with the blogging group Sunday Funday. We are a group of blogging friends and peers who post on a common topic each Sunday. This week we are sharing street food recipes.

I decided to make a version of a hot dog I came across reading Wikipedia. Apparently in Chicago it is a thing to serve a tamale on a hot dog bun with toppings.

I decided to try it and  found it to be pretty good. The article mentioned it may have had its start in Mexico as one of the torta sandwiches served on bolillo. Here it is every bit a chili pill.
