Peach Tea Brined Chicken Wings

Peach Tea Brined Chicken Wings is my recipe of the day with the blogging group From Our Dinner Table. Each week the bloggers in the group can choose to post a recipe on a chosen topic.

This week we are posting recipes for iced tea or ones using that as an ingredient.

Sweet Tea Brined Chicken

I  chose to  make tea brined chicken wings since I had some wings in the fridge. And I still  hadn’t decided what to do with them.

Brining chicken  is always an excellent idea, as the salty liquid keeps the meat moist. Patting them dry after draining, insures they are not too salty.  As well as getting the skin set up to  be dry and ready to grill. Controlling the brine time to that of a marinade also helps keep the chicken  from being salty.

Peach  Tea Chicken

I  liked the idea of making the brine with peach tea rather that simply black tea. I drink peach tea all  the time so it is a natural  choice. You can see below I have many options for using peaches and tea in recipes.

Grilled  Brined Chicken  Wings

Of  course,  since I was not planning  to  fry these wings, grilling is  the best option. And for  me, grilled chicken with some sort of sticky sauce is always perfect.

The  tea itself offers a different experience that just sweet and sour glazed wings. It is more toned down. I did add a jalapeno,  but didn’t find it spicy at all. I  thought about upping the amount in the recipe. But  spicy  peppers can vary wildly and during summer peppers tend to get hotter. So use your judgement on that to add more or just leave it out.
