Today’s recipe is for crispy fried halloumi cheese which I made from a package of cheese fries that I purchased at Aldi. I knew they would be easy to fry into cheese sticks since halloumi doesn’t easily melt in the frying pan.

So unlike trying to scramble getting mozzarella crisp before it melts everywhere, it’s super simple. And the flavor of the cheese is wonderful.

Besides the Aldi cheese (which was already cut) you could also buy a block of halloumi and cut it into sticks. Which I will do next time anyway. Considering some of the fries in the package had broken so not every piece was nice and long. I guess the airport gorilla who mishandles luggage got hold of the cheese as well. But still, one cannot argue with Aldi’s price.
