For my selection I am posting myย recipe for quick country style green beans using canned beans. I prefer flat Italian style canned beans in this. You may more easily find those in the Italian section if not shelved with other cans of green beans.
It’s pretty much just a doctored recipe and is what I do. I might also use other types of canned beans, frozen beans or fresh. Usually all summer long I buy fresh.
Very easy to fix up, you can make this a perfect side for anyย homestyle meal.

This is pretty much how I make my fresh green beans as well, save the cider vinegar. I’m going to try adding that next time!
Yes, the little bump from the vinegar brings out the flavors.
This dish is always a hit. I have never tried it with canned beans. What a great idea for adding some spark in the winter months.
I love Italian-style green beens. This old-fashioned recipe is wonderful and a great way to spiff up canned beans.
Interesting recipe. We too cook green beans but completely different. It’s good to cook the same veggie in different styles.
Sue this recipe reminds me of the popular Kenyan dish that most farmers make when green beans are in season and tender. They saute the beans with small meat pieces and enjoy it with ugali.
I too love green beans cooked in bacon fat, this dish looks so delicious!
