BLAST Sandwich (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Sprouts, Tomato)



A variation on the classic BLT. The sprouts make this earthy while the avocado adds creamy flavor. I first came across this recipes at the Webster Grill & Cafe in Webster Groves, Missouri back in the 1980’s. If you ever ate at the Webster Grill, this may well be a BLAST from the past!


  • 4 slices bacon, cooked crisp
  • 2 leaves lettuce (iceberg or leaf)
  • 3 slices ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons alfalfa sprouts
  • 2 slices ripe tomato
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • Bread slices (2 slices, toasted or grilled any type)



Step 1

Toast or grill bread and set aside.

Step 2

Cook bacon and drain.

Step 3

Assemble sandwich with all ingredients.

Step 4

Slice and serve.
