Chocolate Mascarpone Grilled Cheese, also known as Cioccolato e pane in Italian, is a decadent sweet treat.
Chocolate Mascarpone Grilled Cheese

Chocolate mascarpone grilled cheese is my recipe of the day. I am posting with the blogging group From Our Dinner Table. We group together on Sundays to post on a variety of topics. And this week the focus is on grilled cheese for dessert.
I decided to make a grilled cheese using chocolate bars and mascarpone cheese. I think it is probably an Americanized version of Cioccolato e pane, which is chocolate bread in Italian. Although it is possible that is a name stretch. I am no expert on Italian culinary words. So hopefully the food police will cut me some slack.
But I am an expert on delicious. And delicious this is. You’ll need to let it cool down so you don’t burn your mouth with hot chocolate. But even so, it is still crispy and also nicely gooey, so have a napkin ready. Or just lick your fingers as I did.
My husband says it reminds him of the taste of a chocolate cannoli. And he is pretty much right about that. Except this has crispy buttery bread.
And besides being wonderful for dessert, who is with me in having one of these for breakfast with a hot cup of coffee? OMG I can’t wait for morning to come.
Because you see, I have extra mascarpone leftover, since I didn’t make these all at once. But I did measure the filling to see how many the recipe makes. And you can enjoy these again and again.
