Spicy Jalapeno Pretzel Mix
By Sue Lau | Palatable Pastime
My recipe of the day is for spicy jalapeno pretzel mix with the blogging group “From Our Dinner Table”. We meet on Sundays to post on a variety of topics and todays is all about pretzels.
This is a recipe that came about sort of by accident. I had been out shopping when I came across a really great sale on small bags of pretzel chunks. Bill and I decided to grab some of those and they had several flavors, the ones we chose being jalapeno and also buffalo. The buffalo was alright but we both really liked the jalapeno. Of course as luck would have it, when I went back, they were sold out of jalapeno with a huge supply of buffalo still sitting there.
And in the grand tradition of “If you want something done, you’ll probably have to do it yourself”, I did just that. I’ve made snack mixes before so it wasn’t a problem. I also added some dry jalapeno chips to give it variety (the way I might add nuts to a chex mix) but those really aren’t even necessary, especially if you cannot find them. One of the conundrums I have as a blogger is wondering if people can get the things I buy as ingredients. I am full aware of the global nature of you guys and do try my best. If ever you cannot find something, just ask me about it and I might have ideas for you.
But anyway, this is the second offering I have for Oktoberfest, and I will be trying to post at least a few. This one, of course, is for #snacksaturday . Don’t you find these hashtags humorous sometimes? In a world where a recipe can be a needle in a haystack, it can help someone find it.

Lovely mix! Looks very delish ♥
Thanks.
I just love these simple yet super tasty recipes! As soon as I find some jalapeno chips I have to try this.
Thanks for sharing!
I’ve seen them both by the raisins in small envelopes and also in the canned vegetables aisle now that brands are making it like the dired onions for green bean casserole.
Jalapeno chips? I totally need to find these. I would have thought ground dried jalapenos, but those sound better. I’m a total pretzel snack mix lover. Adding this to the menu!
Sounds like the perfect snack. Thanks for sharing.
Such a great mix – perfect for game day!
