Slow Cooker German Pork Roast is my recipe of the day for the food blogging event Fall Flavors. I posted on Monday and Wednesday of this week and today’s post wraps things up for this year.
Print Recipe
This is my version of the traditional German dish Schweinebraten from Bavaria. The locals there often serve it sliced with gravy for Sunday lunch. Typical accompaniments include bread or potato dumplings and sauerkraut or rotkohl (red cabbage).
This type of food always appeals to me as the seasons turn to Autumn, with the first cool nights. It’s satisfying, rib-sticking fare. I know I’m getting ready when that first craving for sauerkraut hits.
This also pairs exceedingly well with a good German lager or wheat beer. Then all you need is a little extra room for a cream puff or slice of torte for dessert!

Such a hearty meal! I love it’s made in a slow cooker because I love coming home to dinner being ready!
My pork roast wa a delicious! It was late when I got it going so left it on low and went to bed. About 3 o’clock I woke to the best aroma! The next day I 4eheated the roast and made potato balls (dumplings) and red cabbage for my hubby, who’s half german. He loved it like Momma used to make.
Glad you enjoyed!
