Air fryer piri piri or peri peri chicken wings have a crisp exterior, and are doused in a tangy Nando’s style spicy periperi pepper sauce.
Air-Fryer Peri Peri Chicken WIngs
By Sue Lau | Palatable Pastime
My recipe of the day is for peri peri chicken wings (also called piri piri). These spicy wings are made in an air-fryer with a crispy coating.
I am posting this recipe with the Eat the World blogging group. This month centers on Portuguese recipes.
Recipes for peri peri (or piri piri) chicken aren’t much found in Portugal itself, but are recipes made by Portuguese settlers in colonies such as Mozambique and South Africa, using Portuguese peppers. So really it is a bit of Portuguese cooking that Africans have come to love more than anyone else.
I am posting this recipe today as part of Eat the World, where each month a group of adventurous bloggers takes on making a recipe from a different part of the globe. This month, the topic was Portugal.

My lips are tingling just looking at those wings LOL.
I love chicken wings, but I’ve never tried them in an air fryer! Very creative!
