Misir Wot (Ethiopian Lentils)

Misir Wot (Ethiopian Lentils) is one of my recipes of the day with the blogging group Sunday Funday. We are sharing some healthy recipes today to get our year off to a good nutritious start.
I decided to finally get my post for Ethiopian lentils up, since it is very healthy. Not only is it vegetarian (vegan if you just use oil), it also includes turmeric which is obviously healthy.
I had meant to get this posted some time ago, as I had worked it up as part of a larger meal. If you have been waiting, I offer my apologies. If ever I am behind and you are waiting for a recipe I promised, just drop me a line as I don’t mind getting reminders.
Here is a pic of the whole meal I had made:

I will try to post the gomen recipe soon. It has been in my files idling as well. The injera I had bought as that day had quite a few new recipes already. All the foods were delicious and adored by everyone at that meal.

I have made misr wot in the past…pre instant pot….anxious to try it using the instant pot method you are sharing.
Oh yeah, I could totally sop some bread in this!!! YUM!!!
I have made a similar recipe for years, called something completely different because no berbere spice. Now I’ll have to try and buy some of that! Or maybe make my own. Your misir wot is comfort food for sure, Sue.
It’s pretty much similar to a thick Indian masoor dal with minor variations.
These sound wonderful – hearty and flavorful and so comforting!
yum yum, Love this quick and easy version of red lentils. This and different lentils are our everyday food. Comforting and perfect with some rice or roti(Bread).
A few slices of baguette to slurp this delicious lentils dish, yum yum!
