I had actually been sitting around brainstorming ideas to have some sort of chocolate recipe that was savory without making mole sauce or chili when I fell into this idea. I just happened to have some ground pork in the fridge and all the other ingredients standing by, so decided to go for it, and if it wasn’t anything to write home about, I wouldn’t be out too much (it’s why my recipe is small too, but you can increase the meatballs if you want more and still get by with the sauce).

The actual idea for it stems from peanut butter and coconut milk based sauces in these types of cuisines that use these typical ingredients. So it really wasn’t that much a jump for me, since I already knew I liked those. I liked the idea of using hoisin sauce as part of it because it seems the most naturally inclined of the ingredients I had to go with chocolate.

It really turned out amazing to me, far better than I ever hoped. So in hindsight, the chocolate really isn’t such an odd thing at all, even if you have never had it. Personally, I think it will be lots of fun to serve this at a Halloween party  to get people on edge from the idea of it, and then sit back and scoop up all the compliments you will receive. Don’t you? I hope you and all your party guests enjoy,  and Happy Halloween and #Choctoberfest!
