Crispy Catfish Nuggets is my recipe of the day for the blogging group Fish Friday Foodies. We post monthly on the third Friday our favorite seafood recipes on a common topic. Each month one of the members does the hosting and gets to select the topic. This month, Stacy of Food Lust People Love is our host, and thought we should share our favorite battered and crusted seafood recipes.

Crispy Catfish Nuggets

These crispy catfish nuggets are first placed in a spicy marinade overnight to infuse them with flavor. Then they are dipped into a coating and quickly fried for a delectable crust.

You can use any type of fish in this, although I’ve used nuggets in the photos. Children generally like nuggets, though my favorite is often the catfish filets. You can do shrimp in this, but I prefer to do my shrimp in a batter or breadcrumb coating.

  1. My local supermarket sells fresh catfish nuggets so I’ve added them to my shopping list. I never thought to marinate fish before frying but it makes a lot of sense to add flavor, especially with catfish which can sometimes taste a little muddy. Your nuggets look wonderful, Sue!
