Everyone loves freshly baked bread, but often, who has the time? Using beer as a leavening agent offers a loophole from the usual yeast method rising process. Quick to stir together and throw in a pan, you can have this deliciously savory bacon beer bread in about an hour. You will be absolutely amazed at how simple this is! Not to mention the tantalizing taste. Even if you have never made bread before, do give this a try. I think you’ll love it!
Savory Bacon Beer Bread

Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup freeze-dried chives
- 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil, melted butter or bacon drippings (your choice)
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 12 ounces tepid lager beer (such as Budweiser, Busch or Miller)
Method:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Stir together all the dry ingredients then fold in the oil, sour cream and lager into a batter.
- Pour into a greased 5.25″ x 9″ x 2.75″ glass loaf pan (or equivalent) and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted is removed clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes, then turn out of pan and finish cooling on a wire rack.
