Eggnog teams up with cocoa for a delicious holiday drink.
Hot Chocolate Eggnog
By Sue Lau | Palatable Pastime
Just a few days from Christmas! I was hoping for a little snow but it looks like we will get cold rain instead. What’s a good drink to have when it rains? For me, it’s coffee.
But for the places where it is actually cold enough to snow, I have this recipe for hot chocolate eggnog for you. It is a little more involved than just pouring eggnog and hot chocolate together since the nog is already sweet. But I have it worked out for you. I used the Hartzler brand eggnog which is ready made and available here in Ohio. There aren’t too many brands of prepared nog I will readily drink but that is one. Otherwise you can make it from scratch, although I don’t have a recipe up for that (yet).
Hopefully this will keep you warm on a chilly day. Or we can sip it in front of the a/c. 😉
Tomorrow I will be posting bacon and horseradish dip. And on Christmas Eve my recipe for Holiday Hot Tea Punch. I hope you follow along if you have time. C’ya tomorrow!

- 2 tablespoons dry micro-marshmallows

- Whisk together the eggnog, milk, cocoa, and vanilla; stir gently over low heat until drinkably hot.
- Stir in the rum.
- Top with dry marshmallows (they will quickly soften in the drink).
