Breakfast Pizza is my recipe of the day with the blogging event Brunch Week. We post annually, doing several recipes during the week. This year we will be posting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Glad you could join us!

My recipe for today is a breakfast pizza using canned biscuit dough pressed into a crust. It is then par-baked, topped with a sawmill gravy sauce, various meats and cheddar cheese.

The last bake heats everything through and ensures everything is tasty and pizza perfect.

Equipment

  • pizza pan

Ingredients
  

  • 16 ounce can refrigerated Jumbo buttermilk biscuits

Toppings:

  • 8 ounces breakfast sausage cooked and crumbled
  • 4 slices bacon cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 3 ounces chopped ham
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried snipped chives

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Open biscuits and pat them out into a circular crust on a pizza pan, pinching edges together.
  • Bake at 400F for ten minutes then remove from oven and set aside.

Toppings:

  • Cook off bacon and sausage and set aside. You can do this in advance if you like.
  • Scramble the eggs with salt and pepper and set aside.

Sauce:

  • Melt butter in a nonstick skillet and whisk in the flour, salt and pepper.
  • Add milk all at once and whisk and stir until gravy thickens.

Assembly:

  • Spread gravy on partially baked crust.
  • Sprinkle with toppings and bake 5 minutes more.
  • Slice into 6 pieces and serve.
