Tangerine Julius

I decided to make a Tangerine Julius which is fashioned after the Orange Julius smoothie from the restaurant. I just happened to be holding a ton of tangerines and wanted to use those up quickly. Many times using the Flash Food app you might see boxes full of citrus cheap and this is a great use for them.

You can also use other citrus in this, or even tangerine juice sold retail. I freeze the juice in ice cube trays. Before I blend, I will crush the frozen juice in a plastic bag to make sure it blends quickly, smoothly without jamming my blender. I don’t want to risk burning out my motor.

I like that this recipe is juice, milk and half and half. It keeps it creamy without adding ice.
