Dirty Chai Latte Muffins is my recipe of the day with the blogging group Muffin Monday. We meet once per month on the last Monday to post our latest and best muffin recipes we have come up with.
The temptations of ideas are many. I have been teased this month with ads from a local bakery who has been making any number of baked goods a dirty chai.
What is a Dirty Chai Latte?
Chai latte made with tea and lots of milk is a dirty chai latte. Then it gets “dirtied” with espresso which bumps the flavor into a new zone, neither entirely chai or entirely espresso.
On the one hand, it offers coffee flavor without being as strong as an espresso would. On the other hand, it is softened with the spiced milky flavors of chai tea.
I love tea infused bakery things of all types so this works out great for me. Plus spices are perfect for autumn and the punch of an espresso glaze on top adds the right amount of flavor and sweetness.
Besides, who doesn’t love a little coffee flavor to go with their morning coffee? As well, if you love tea but can’t decide, this is the one for you.
