Jucy Lucy Burger is my recipe of the day  with  Burger  Month. I wanted to  make something very homestyle since we are spending so much time  at home.

Perfect for me is a pan-fried burger, with melted  cheese inside for ooey gooey goodness.

I use high temp  cheese to do this so it doesn’t try to run out of the burger and into  the skillet. I mean, who needs that kind of burned up  mess?

Hi Temp cheese melts at a higher temperature, so  it softens inside without becoming liquid. The other thing about cheese is that if it becomes liquid from excessive heat, the  proteins in the cheese separate out and leave  it stringy. You won’t have that problem here.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3.6 ounces diced hi-temp cheese 3/4 cup
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 toasted sandwich buns
  • assorted burger toppings lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle

Instructions
 

  • Mix seasonings into beef.
  • Divide beef into six portions and pat out into thin patties.
  • Place 1/4 cup hi-temp cheese on top of each of three patties.
  • Place remaining patties on those and pinch edges to seal.
  • Cook to desired doneness or 165F in the center, without pressing down on the patties while cooking.
  • Serve on toasted buns with your choice of toppings.
