Greek Grilled Chicken Legs is my recipe of the day with the blogging group From Our Dinner Table. We post weekly with recipes on a common topic. This week we are sharing favorite grilling and bbq recipes for Father’s Day.

I can’t say my Dad was a big fan of Greek recipes since he was old-school and not very adventurous. However, my husband and father-in-law have always loved Greek foods.
The chicken is very simple and is perfect for those who don’t care for sauced barbecue. It also appeals to those who are cooking on a budget. And isn’t that everyone during these days of inflation?
I like to serve this chicken with a tzatziki sauce, grilled vegetables, salad or horiatiki and maybe some grilled potatoes or a rice dish. The chicken does seem to go with everything.

Greek Grilled Chicken Legs
Ingredients
Meat
- 3 pounds chicken drumsticks bone-in
Marinade:
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried mint
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 3 teaspoons honey
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
Instructions
- Marinate chicken 6 hours or overnight.
- Drain chicken from marinade and if using as a grilling baste, bring to a boil for 3 minutes, then cool.
- Grill chicken legs offset from coals or place in a smoker at 350F and grill or smoke until chicken reaches 165F.
