The legendary White Castle hamburger makes an appearance in a traditional stuffing or dressing mix, adding a surprisingly delicious flavor twist.
White Castle Stuffing or Dressing
By Sue Lau | Palatable Pastime
This post is sponsored on behalf of #FallFlavors. Our generous sponsors Door County Coffee and Tea Company and Millican Pecan have provided us with products for recipe creation and a giveaway for our readers. As always, all opinions are my own.
My recipe of the day is for White Castle stuffing which is being posted as part of #FallFlavors week.
I have always been fond of White Castle hamburgers (or slyders as they are affectionately known) so wanted to get my version of the infamous White Castle stuffing on the blog for you since I had given it a try. As it turns out, the taste is fabulous.
This stuffing will be perfect for going with turkey or chicken as well as things like pork chops, pork roast or roast beef. Anything really. Don’t let the beef in them deter you, as it tends to work out, the same way using sausage in stuffing does.
And what about that stuffing or dressing argument?
I hold to my opinion that it is stuffing when stuffed inside something, and dressing when it is baked outside, sort of the way clothes dress the outside of someone.
Either way, this will be a favorite if you can get the Castles. You can probably use Krystal burgers too although they aren’t quite the same. It’s a regional thing.

White Castle Stuffing
Thanks for joining me this week for #FallFlavors! Best of luck to you in the drawing if you entered!
I live in Michigan and there are White Castles everywhere. Believe it or not, I have never eaten one. But my husband loves them so I think he would love this dressing as well.
I love White Castle, but we don’t have them in Omaha. But you can get them frozen at the grocery store. Which I sometimes do. I just might give this a try. Thanks!
Also, my favorite fall flavor is apple. Caramel apples to be a bit more specific.
Can’t argue with caramel. Look for my post on caramel apple s’mores. That caramel from Chocoley is amazing!
Yes I have seen the frozen ones! 😁
This St. Louis girl, with a White Castle on every corner, has made something slightly similar before but YOUR version looks and sounds amazing! Love my little sliders, and I love the idea of this recipe! <3
We used to go to the one down on Chouteau near the stadium when I was a kid. Usually on a Sunday depending wherever Dad was driving that day. The only times I didn’t live near one was when I lived in Mississippi and Florida when hubs was in the Air Force. There are Krystals in Florida but those taste different. I still like eating castles every now and again and smell them outside of Jungle Jim’s where I shop. 🥰
I have never had a White Castle but have heard they are the best! I would love to enjoy this dressing for my holiday celebration!
Do you have them frozen in the market or have Krystal burgers?
This stuffing sounds so good. I’ve never had a white castle burger, but that will have to change
I totally miss White Castle. I would even take a Krystal if they were here, but nothing. I think I can find frozen ones…
I’ve heard they still make the frozen ones. I don’t go in the freezer section much to be certain.
